Makiba Astronomical Observatory

This is the birthplace of dairy farming at Koiwai Farm, where approximately 300 mother cows and calves live. You can also view 9 buildings designated as National Important Cultural Properties, including the active cattle barn and what is said to be Japan's oldest brick silo.

Kamimarugyu Cattle Barn

A learning facility that clearly displays the history of land reclamation, the development of dairy farming, coexistence with nature, Koiwai Farm's 130+ years of history and current operations, cultural properties within the farm, and connections with Kenji Miyazawa. It features materials, photographs, and models that can be enjoyed by people of all generations.

Koiwai Farm Museum

A gallery where you can enjoy learning about 21 nationally designated important cultural properties and the farm's history through videos and interactive exhibits. You can also experience the historical background using the latest digital technology.

You can observe through windows the process of making milk and natural cheese from fresh raw milk extracted at the Kamimarugyu Barn. This is a facility where you can learn how products are made and what commitments go into them. You can understand the entire process from dairy farming to manufacturing. From the observation room on the 2nd floor, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Makiba Park.
